Love Is Patient Love Is Kind: 2013 Jun Trip to West Coast USA

It is our first time traveling long haul with JT. We think he is old enough to be patient traveling on an airplane for more than 10 hours. Our first stop was San Francisco and it was nice to be greeted by sunny weather.
It was still a little chilly for us and lucky that we had brought with us fleece and jackets.

We visited most of the places a traveler would do: visit Pier 39, eat crabs, eat sourdough bread, watch seals look at the Golden Gate bridge and visit museums.

JT and his class read a book called the Magic Faraway Tree during the read aloud session at school. They loved it so much. While walking to the Science Academy, he wonder if that tree might be the Magic Far Away Tree.

It was JT's first time to see a white crocodile, he was very excited and wrote a poem about this when he got back to the hotel at night. He sent his poem to his teacher after we were back to HK.

I have been to Santa Cruz twenty years ago. A friend's friend brought me there and I still remember how nice and kind people in California were. (Well at least, those I was in contact with.) It is neat to bring my son and husband to revisit this place.

We were a bit ambitious trying to visit Santa Cruz and Sausalito in one day. At the end, we decided that it would be too rush to do so given the traffic condition. So, we changed plan and had dinner in the Cliff House Bistro in San Francisco. It was a nice restaurant and worth the wait. Sunset is beautiful there. Happy Father's Day to OT!

I kind of like desert and the wilderness. It was amazing to see Grand Canyon. On our way from Las Vegas to San Diego, we drove through part of the desert.

It was amazing to see the cheetah running so fast in the safari park in San Diego. At the end of the day, we were lucky to see a lion running since they sleep almost 20 hours a day.
