We signed JT up for a swimming gala in our neighborhood, thinking it would be fun and could be a great experience for him. He was in 20M free-style and 20M kickboard for the young kids. He did not get any medal and became very upset and cried.
To us, it was a really good chance for him to learn to lose. He probably would have to get to lose more to get used to it. It was not easy but that's part of life.
