Summer Vacation

I have decided not to send him to summer school this year during his two-month summer holiday. It was a challenge to me but perhaps a better thing for him. One of the things I let him try this year is a Children's Pottery class organized by a local YMCA.

He seems to like it a lot. More than I have expected. He is excited that the instructor let them dig up some soil in the garden and compare it with the pottery clay that they are using. In Chinese, the word "soil" and "clay" are the same. By touching them, he now knows the difference.

He made a hand-print on a piece of clay on his first lesson. JT watched his instructor, Auntie Pat, punching two holes for him in the picture below.
