Education in Hong Kong

I was reading the blog of a Taiwanese writer whom has lived in Finland for the past six years. She doesn't understand why students in Taiwan have to have so much pressure. I feel for her. When it comes to education, there is little difference between Taiwan and Hong Kong in terms of the amount of pressure the students are getting. I also don't understand why some students in Hong Kong need to work till 10pm to finish their homework and practise musical instruments everyday whether or not they like it. Some of JT's classmates have little time to play or take a nap even though they are only 3-4 years old as their parents signed them up for 2 kindergartens, one in the morning and one in the afternoon....
